Permanently Remove My AI from Snapchat

Even though users have complained about My AI on Snapchat, the company hasn’t taken it away or turned it off, even when it made mistakes like posting on its own Snapchat story.
Instead, Snapchat is making My AI show sponsored links in its responses to make more money from it.
Since Snapchat doesn’t seem to be getting rid of My AI soon, here are some ways you can use less of it or make it go away completely.
How to remove Snapchat's My AI
1. Block My AI from watching your Snapchat Stories
If the idea of My AI makes you uncomfortable, you might be surprised to learn that by default, My AI can see your Snapchat Stories.
While Snapchat doesn’t come right out and say that My AI watches your stories, you can find a switch in My AI’s privacy settings that lets it access them.
The reason it has access to your stories is probably to give you more personalized responses. Snapchat mentions that “My AI uses the content you share with it, including your location if you’ve shared it with Snapchat, to give you helpful answers, like suggesting nearby places.”
If you want to stop My AI from seeing your stories, follow these steps: Go to the Chats tab, tap and hold the My AI banner, click on Privacy Settings, and then turn off “My story.”
2. Delete your data from My AI
My AI keeps all your user information from your talks until you decide to remove it. To delete this old stuff, just follow these steps:
- Tap the Profile Icon.
- Scroll down to “Privacy Controls.”
- Tap “Clear Data.”
- Then, tap “Clear My AI Data.”
It’s important to know that this will only remove data from your past chats with My AI. Other interactions with My AI won’t be affected.
Snapchat says, “By confirming, we’ll delete data from your past chats with My AI, but it won’t delete visible or saved stuff, like when you’ve mentioned My AI in other chats.”
To erase data from any chat with My AI, you’ll need to delete the conversation where My AI was mentioned. Just hold down on the conversation and delete it.
3. Delete My AI permanently by buying a SnapChat+ membership
Snapchat seems to be aware of how much users dislike My AI, and they’ve found a way to benefit from it. Currently, the only way to unpin or get rid of My AI is by getting a Snapchat+ membership.
This membership costs £3.99 per month or £24.50 per year and gives users access to special features like experimental ones, custom app icons, chat wallpapers, custom story settings, and more.
If you decide to go for this option, removing My AI is pretty easy, no more complicated than deleting any other chat. Here’s what you do: Hold down on My AI in Chat, tap “Chat Settings,” and then tap “Clear from Chat Feed.”
