Microsoft & Google Unveil AI Healthcare Initiatives

Microsoft and Google have shared plans to use smart computers to help doctors and nurses get important information more easily.

The Google Cloud project will make it easier for doctors and healthcare providers to find patient data like test results and medications all in one place. It can also help with tasks that usually cause extra stress and tiredness for medical professionals.

Google is just starting to use AI in medicine, but they already see the potential for better healthcare & faster progress in life sciences thanks to data & generative AI.

Microsoft’s system aims to help healthcare organisations gather data from different locations, saving healthcare workers from the time-consuming process of searching for information.

Microsoft emphasised that using data is crucial for any organisation’s success, and this is especially important in healthcare where data can bring significant benefits.

On Tuesday, Alphabet’s shares were down by 0.3%, and Microsoft’s shares were down by 0.4%, but they both had positive performance for the year. Microsoft’s shares had increased by more than 37% year-to-date, while Alphabet’s shares had risen by nearly 55% year-to-date.

Both Microsoft and Alphabet’s Google are actively working on AI initiatives in the healthcare sector to streamline data access, improve healthcare experiences, and alleviate the burdens on medical professionals.

They recognise the importance of data in healthcare and its potential to bring positive changes. While their stock prices experienced minor fluctuations on a given day, both companies have shown strong performance over the year.

With Microsoft’s shares up by over 37% year-to-date and Alphabet’s shares close to 55% higher year-to-date. This suggests investor confidence in their endeavors in the healthcare and AI fields.
