300-Year-Old London Home with Private Boathouse & Mooring
This big seven-bedroom house near the River Thames used to belong to someone from the Fortnum & Mason family.

A very old house near the river in London is for sale. It has a boathouse, a place to park a boat, and a famous previous owner. They want £5.5 million for it.
The house is called Walnut Tree House and it was built in 1728. It’s in Hampton Wick, a nice place by the River Thames. At first, it was made for the person who ran the nearby brewhouse.
Over the years, Walnut Tree House has had some important people living in it. These include the artist Enoch Ward and Richard Fortnum, whose family started the fancy store Fortnum & Mason, known for its high-quality food. Richard Fortnum ran the store from 1815 to 1845.
The current owners recently worked very carefully to make the more than 7,000-square-foot house look nice again. The real estate company Savills put the house on the market in September.
Inside the house, you can see many old-fashioned things like columns, fancy designs on the walls, and fireplaces.

Daniel Killick, who works at Savills Teddington, said, “This amazing house has been made beautiful again. It has a big 100-foot garden that goes down to the river, and you can park your boat there. It’s perfect for a family who likes boating and wants to go to places like Richmond, Hampton Court Palace, or even farther.”
He also mentioned, “This seven-bedroom house is for sale for the first time in almost 40 years. It’s a great chance to live by the river and enjoy a peaceful life.”
