Honda has a cool new electric scooter called the Motocompacto, and it looks like a moving suitcase! They made it so you can fold it up and it’s really light, like the handlebars and seat can fit inside the scooter’s main body, which looks like a suitcase. This makes it super easy to carry around and put away.

Honda says it can go as fast as 15 miles per hour, and it doesn’t make any pollution because it runs on electricity. You can ride it for up to 12 miles without needing to charge it. And when you do need to charge it up, it only takes 3.5 hours, whether you have it all folded up or ready to ride, & you can do it with a regular outlet you have at home. The price for this cool scooter is $995, and you can get one later this year.

The Motocompacto is a modern electric version of a Honda design from the early ’80s called the Motocompo. Back then, the Motocompo was a foldable scooter, but it had a different look. It kind of resembled a handyman’s duffle bag when it was all packed up. Honda designed it so that it could fit into the cargo space of their small Honda City kei car.

The idea was to use it as a solution for the last part of a journey. People could drive their car as far as they could, and then use the Motocompo to get to their final destination in places where they couldn’t park a car easily.

The Motocompacto can do the same things as the original model, but it has some modern features to make your ride even better. According to Honda, it’s great for moving around cities & campuses. They made sure it’s comfortable & easy to use.

It has a comfy seat, secure foot pegs to keep your feet in place, a place to store your stuff, a digital speedometer to show how fast you’re going, a battery gauge to see how much charge is left, and a handy handle to carry it when you’re not riding.

What’s really cool is that you can use a smartphone app to change your personal settings, like the lights and how it rides, using Bluetooth. So, it’s like having a high-tech scooter that you can customize just the way you like it.

The Motocompacto is built with strong materials. Its wheels and frame are made from heat-treated aluminum, which is both durable and lightweight. It comes with bright LED lights in the front and back, along with reflectors on the sides to keep you visible. It also has a sturdy kickstand with a welded steel loop, so you can easily lock it up with most bike locks to keep it safe.

In terms of weight, it’s about 41 pounds, which is similar to the weight of a typical carry-on suitcase. So, it’s pretty easy to handle and transport, just like your luggage when you’re traveling. Watch an intro video to the Motocompacto :

The Motocompacto is part of Honda’s bigger plan to have more electric vehicles in its lineup by 2030. They’re aiming to sell only electric or fuel cell cars by 2040. Honda is not alone in this effort; many other major car companies like GM, Ford, Hyundai, and Volvo are also working towards reducing carbon emissions. They’re doing this by offering more electric vehicles as choices for consumers.

The Motocompacto will be available alongside Honda’s new lineup of all-electric SUVs. According to Jane Nakagawa, the Vice President of the R&D Business Unit at American Honda Motor Co., the Motocompacto helps Honda in achieving its goal of carbon neutrality because it provides customers with a way to travel with zero emissions from start to finish.
