Musk Threatens Lawsuit Against Anti-Defamation League

Elon Musk has recently taken legal action against another organisation that opposes hate speech, known as the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). He claims that CCDH has harmed X’s advertiser relationships. CCDH, on the other hand, has vowed to contest the lawsuit and continue to hold Twitter accountable.

In his Tuesday posts, Musk made it very clear that he supports free speech but firmly opposes any form of antisemitism.

The ADL identifies itself as the world’s foremost anti-hate organisation with a mission to combat the defamation of Jewish people and promote justice and fair treatment for all.

According to the group, incidents of antisemitic content on X saw a notable surge following Musk’s acquisition of the platform in October 2022. They attribute this increase to the platform’s decision to reinstate extremists and conspiracy theorists and its failure to prevent harassment directed at former members of its dissolved trust and safety council.

One legal expert has suggested that Musk might consider pursuing a defamation lawsuit under US state law, although the chances of it succeeding appear slim.
